S&H Rubber achieved ISO 9001:2008 and AS9100 certifications, the new quality standard of the aerospace industry.
AS9100 was designed to build upon and enhance the requirements of IS0 9001, the internationally recognized standard for basic quality management, by focusing on the additional, more rigorous expectations and requirements of the aerospace industry. The certification confirms that S&H Rubber possesses an aerospace quality system that is both consistent and robust, ensuring product, process and service safety, reliability and quality.
S&H Rubber earned ISO 9001:2008 Registration from IQMS. The scope of our ISO 9001:2008 registration, the most comprehensive standard in the ISO 9000 series, covers the design and manufacture of sealing components for various applications including aerospace, automotive and medical products.
AS9100 certification is rapidly becoming a prerequisite for doing aerospace business, as many original equipment manufacturers will only work with a handful of suppliers, such as S&H Rubber, who are registered to this standard. These quality requirements are extremely important to aerospace OEMs, which maintain high levels of liability for their product quality.
ITAR refers to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations, and it is an export law that regulates the manufacturing and sale of technology. It was enacted to prevent the disclosure or transfer of defense-related information to foreign entities. Our annual ITAR registration with the State Department allows us to conduct business with our overseas partners while complying with U.S. regulations.
